1st Quarter FAL

I had high hopes for this first quarter challenge.  I did manage to complete 2 of the 4 projects I wrote about.  I love this little quilt for Little Mr. C.  I can't wait to give it to him.  Machine embroidery is so much fun.
I found the pot of gold socks and they are done.

I didn't even touch the cardigan!  too much other knitting going on.
The Dresden Plate quilt is assembled and I have started hand quilting it.  I hope to finish is during the 2nd quarter.

I can't wait to see what everyone else has accomplished.  Be sure to visit On the Windy Side.

Design Wall Monday

Buried deep in one of my quilting binders I came across a pattern for a charm quilt called Bricks and Mortar.  I am going to share it with my Guild in a few weeks.
I hope to finish a few more rounds before our guild meeting.

Yarn Report Week 12

As always I managed to add a little to my stash.  I think 210 yards qualifies as a little!

Yarn in this week:  210 yards
Yarn out this week:  0 yards (not because I haven't tried)
Yarn in YTD7679 yards
Yarn out YTD:1210 yards

On the Needles Friday

Not a very productive knitting week.  A few rows of this and a few rows of that.  I mentioned several posts ago that I was working on the Great American Aran Afghan project at my LYS.  This is the 3rd block that the instructor chose.  I love the bobbles in this block.

Not much progress on my socks.  But at class last night we decided to start a sock club!  At least I will have one dedicated knitting time for socks each week.

I did knit a sample for the shop using Malabrigo.  I knit 5 inches of several different patterns.  That is where my knitting time went.  Once the sample is done and goes to the shop we get "paid" with a skein of the yarn.   This is part of the sample.

And this is yarn that is now part of my stash.

My next sample swatch will be knit with Ella Rae Cozy Soft.

Yarn Report Week 12

Although I didn't finish anything, I did manage to buy a few more yards.
I feel as though it is my direct responsibility to keep my LYS open.  But these colors were too pretty to pass up.

Yarn in this week:  920 yards
Yarn out this week:  0 yards
In YTD:  7469 yards
Out YTD:  1210 yards (My fingers feels as though they have worked harder than that!)

On the Needles Friday

I have broken my cardinal rule of only knitting one project at a time!  I haven't made much progress since last week--a few rows here and a few rows there.
I had to restart the block because of gauge issues.
I hardly made any progress on my sock project.  There is only one week left for the class.  I have my work cut out for me.
This last item is a sample for my LYS.  I knit about 5 inches of several technics--textured, ribbed, cable, lace, yarn overs and knit with purl combination.  I hope to finish this piece tonight and then block it.

Fabric out this week:  46.5 yards
In YTD:  17 yards
Out YTD:  46.5 yards.

Yarn Report Week

It seems like forever since I have had a change in my numbers.  But I actually completed a little sweater.  So when a little goes out, I feel the need to bring more than what I used in!

Yarn in this week:  1138 yards (all for Loopy Academy Semester 2)
Yarn out this week:  400 yards
Yarn in YTD:  6549 yards
Yarn out YTD": 1210 yards

The three skeins on the left are Cascade 220 Superwash Sport in navy and white.  The center purple skein is Cascase 220 for another pair of felted mittens.  And the blue skeins on the right are Shi Bui baby alpaca for a cowl.

On the Needles Friday

Since I wasn't able to post last week, I have a little extra to share.
Little Mr. C's Baby Latte Coat is ready to be sent.  The yarn is Tosh Chunky in Cousteau.  It becomes so soft when blocked using Soak.  I especially like the pocket detail.  Another project for my ESK Yarnathon Chunky KAL

Currently on my needles are a pair of toe up socks using yarn I won from a Loopy Ewe challenge.  With all this snow and grey weather, the colors are a real pick-me-up.

And I have started my first every felted project--a pair of mittens for another ESK challenge.
