On the Needles Friday

I am still working on my Mitered Square which is progressing slowly but surely.  I went from 288 stitches on my needles to 210 stiches.  It still looks pretty much the same.  But I know I will be under 200 stitches next week.
I am off to get some more inspiration on Judy's blog.

Design Wall (Monday) a few days late

I added a few blocks this past week end to my string quilt.
I just need 25 blocks to finish the top.

WIP Wednesday

I am so happy I was able to add a few leaves to latest block.  A few stitches each show help me move along with this project.

I am enjoying working on this block.

The Splendid Sampler

So much fun to be inspired by a new project.  Is anyone doing The Splendid Sampler with Pat Sloan and Jane Davidson?  I have two full dresser drawers plus a few fat quarters scattered about of thirties reproduction fabrics.  And I thought this might be a nice way to make a dent.

Here are my first two blocks.

Two blocks will be released each week--one on Sunday and one on Thursday.  There will be a total of 100 blocks.

On the Needles Friday

Trying to stay true to my 2016 goals, I want to finish things before I start new things.  Not always possible but worth the try.  I have been worked on my Eagles Mitered Square forever!!!  Instead of taking new pictures--they don't look very different one from another,  I am going to report how many stitches I have left!
I started with 600 stitches and decrease two stitches every other row.  Currently I have 288 stitches left.  I am so ready to be done with this project.

Work in Progress Wednesday

So much to do and so little time!!  I have made a concentrated effort this year (all 7 weeks of it) to work on my UFO's aka PhD's (projects half done).  Several years ago I purchased a BOM, The Joy of Life.  There are only nine applique blocks in the project.  I think I have completed three of them.  My plan is to post my progress every Wed.

Design Wall Monday

I am not sure what possessed me to start a new project.  But I find string quilts easy to work on and it is an easy way to use up scraps.
Since it is too cold to go anywhere, I hope to finish a few blocks.  I need 48 blocks to complete the quilt.

Ambiguous Cowl KAL

A lovely group of knitting friends have been meeting at our LYS and participating in Knit Purl Hunter's Ambiguous Cowl KAL.

Here we are proudly wearing our creations.

This is a close of our cowls.

We are looking forward to the Poncho KAL starting in April.

On the Needles and Stash Report February 14 2016

Friday came and went!!  Have you ever worked on a project you just weren't enjoying?  I had a hat on the needles that I did not particularly like and the yarn was not nice to work with.  I don't think I have ever dreaded knitting something.  Ordinarily, I would have continued and finished.  But I decided life is too short.  I am only going to knit things that make me happy.
I am determined to finish the mitered square.  It is a nice project to work on during these cold days.
No fabric or yarn in or out this week.  Maybe next week.

Design Wall Monday

I managed to finish the top I posted about last week.
We are looking forward to another snowy day here in MA.  It should be a nice day to spend with my sewing machine.

One of our guild members presented a workshop on this quilted tote.

On the Needles

Working on ESK February KAL--Starfighter Hat.  I repurposed the yarn from the cowl for January.  I am using Dream in Color Everlasting in Bluefish.  I cast on the Spiral Cowl 4 times and gave up.  It is not a difficult pattern.  I finally figured I didn't like the yarn for the cowl but it will be perfect for the hat.
I am off to Judy's for some inspiration.

Design Wall Monday

Every year my LQS has a Machine Embroidery BOM club.  This year the shop owner designed and digitized a project she called Revolutionary Flare.  The embroidery and some of the piecing is done. I hope to finish piecing the top this week.
