Get It Done February

Well, I was not as successful as I would have liked.  however, February is a short month!  The good news is that I enjoyed everything I worked on this month.  As much as I like finishing things, I do not beat myself up if I fall behind.  I was going to put the Farm Life quilt on hold but decided to add it back.

Now I am not sure why I am making this long list.  My sister and I will be going to the Lancaster Quilt Show.  I will be travelling to PA and DC for a week of sisterly fun as well as visiting soon to be married daughter, Miss MM, in DC.  I will only have handwork with me.  Since this is a road trip  from New England I should have lots of  "car" time.

1. Keep up to date on Medallion Mystery
2. QOV String Quilt--never even started it in Jan--half way done
3. Sandwich Farm Life Quilt: uh-oh not yet
4. Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt--complete blocks 1-20: only finished 13!!!

1. Complete QOV String Quilt, prepare backing, binding and send off
2. Keep up to date with BOM Medallion Mystery and Baltimore Revisited
3. Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt: 10 blocks
4. Pat's Cupcake Quilt
5. Complete Little Miss M's Ma Belle sweater
6. Sandwich Farm Life Quilt
7. Work on last two blocks of Hocuspocusville--blackwork.

How was your month?

What's Cooking

This week's ingredient---Sweetened Condensed Milk. I don't think I have ever used this!!!  So off I went to google land to see what I could come up with.  I found this brownie recipe and decided to give it a try.  It seemed a perfect recipe to try as we were in the midst of a blizzard.  My Big Guy loved them.  I did need to make a few changes.  I used two boxes of Ghirdelli brownie mix and added three tablespoons of espresso powder to the water.

This is my first posting for WOW.  I love how one blog leads to another.  There are so many interesting things to be found in blogland.  One of my resolutions for this year is to finish projects that have been waiting far to long!! I am working on my tenth block for Hocuspocusville by Crabapple Hill designs

Stash Report Week 6

You would think that with a blizzard this week end I would have completed at least one project.  That unfortunately is not the case.  I did get some sewing time in.  Not as much as I would have liked but I did have a nice time.

Before the storm I was able to visit my LQS and managed to purchase 2.25 yards.  It seems rude to visit a shop and not purchase something!!!  This is my first purchase this year.

Fabric in this week:  2.25 yards
Fabric out this week: 0
Fabric in YTD:  2.25 yards
Fabric out YTD: 28.75 yards

What's Cooking--Peanut Butter

As soon as I saw peanut butter, I knew it had to be a cookie.  I will use any excuse to bake a sweet treat.  During these What's Cooking challenges, I want to try something new unless I know I have a spectacular recipe that I would like to share.  I found what sounded like a yummy double chocolate cookie and it lived up to its rating of five stars.  I was a little nervous since it only called for one cup of flour.  But my qualms were short-lived.  I will be adding this recipe to my favorites and will make again.
