Surprise Package.

I love most surprises that come in the mail.  Especially when I have forgotten about it.  Today I received my first Plucky Knitter package.  It is a yarn I have never used before.  I am going to participate in the Plucktember challenge.  I will be knitting Lowbrow hat and cowl.  This yarn is an aran worsted weight of merino, silk and yak in the color Chino.  It has a wonderful feel.  I can't wait to start the project.  We can cast on Sunday September 1.

On the Needles Friday

I am furiously working on my Camp Loopy Project #3.  It must be completed by Saturday August 31 11:59 PM.  We are going on a road trip Friday.  I am hoping that with five uninterrupted hours in a car that I just might finish on time.

Knitting Report Week 33

I love Judy's idea of a weekly knitting report.  Maybe, just maybe I will stop and think before I purchase another pattern or more yarn.  This kind of reminds me of Weight Watchers--is it worth the points--do I REALLY need more yarn; prior planning before you eat--what am I going to make with the new yarn.  Can you guess what I did this morning!!  But that is another post.

Stash Report Week 33

There has been very little sewing going on--mostly knitting.  But I did add a little fabric for a specific project--more on that in a few weeks.

Fabric in this week:  4.75 yards
Fabric out this week:  0
YTD in;  33.25
YTD out:  66.75

Still doing better using the stash rather than adding to it.

Now back to that dang knitting project.

Knitting Report Week 32 (even though I am just starting today)

One of my all time favorite blogs to visit is JudyL at Patchwork Times.  I'm a city girl, she is a country girl who has made me want to visit Texas.  She gets more done in one day than I do in a month of Sundays.  She has many great, creative, funs ideas and I usually find myself jumping in feet first.

Quilters have fabric stashes and knitters have yarn stash.  Personally,. I prefer calling these "collections"  my 401K plans.  My yarn tucked away in a good size walk in closet.

This is just what is visible  Do I NEED to buy more yarn/  ABSOLUTELY not.  Will I?  To be truthful I do have a few committments.  And I must honor these promises.

Like Judy, I signed up for The Loopy Ewe Fall giftables club.  My first package arrived today.  Isn't is beautiful.  I am waiting for the pattern that is part of the package.  It is a pair of fingerless mitts.  Judy introduced me to TLE over a year ago.  It was love at first purchase and I have been going strong ever since.

So in order to hold myself accountable with yarn purchases,  I am going to join Judy on Fridays with a knitting report.

I signed up to take part in Plucktember with the Plucky Knitter.  I will be knitting Lowbrow hat and cowl.  The yarn should be arriving any day!!!

This by far the longest post I have ever written.

On the Needles friday

Why does time seem to fly by!!!  Lately I just don't seem to be able to catch up or stay on track.
Let me share with you what is on my needles.  My Camp Loopy Project #3 is due by August 31.  I don't think I will make this deadline but I do like how the sweater is turning out.

The pattern is Devenish and I am using Cascade superwash.
