I am a little behind with my Forever Blooming BOM. This is Block 2 in the series. I hope to start working on Blocks 1 and 3.
A place to chronicle my quilting and fiber journey with a little cooking and genealogy.

On and (Off) the Needles Friday
Finally, a little progress this week. My Gramps cardigan is coming along. I have never attached sleeves in this manner but so far so good. The baby shower is 3 weeks from tomorrow. I hope I can finish it in time.
Throughout the year The Wooly Women knit hats, mittens and scarves that I take to a Soup Kitchen. Hopefully Spring is around the corner and we can start preparing for next winter. This is an easy pattern that requires very thinking. It is easy to do while in the car.

On the Needles Friday
A day late (two days actually) and a dollar short!!! I think this is the new me and I am not crazy about it. I seem to have gotten a little over-extended with commitments. I know that is how life can be sometimes so I just try to roll with it.
You may remember that I have been working on a Gramp's Cardigan for my soon to be born grand-nephew that I have named Baby Kelly's Cardigan. I had very little knitting time this week (I have been trying to catch up on an applique project). But the main part of the body is finished as well as one sleeve and I hope to complete the second sleeve today.

Encrusted Crazy Quilt Week 1
I love the idea of making a crazy quilt and have played around with the technique. But I have never felt especially successful. Have you ever visited Pintangle? I have long admired Sharon's work. I signed up for her encrusted Crazy Quilt class. It took me an entire afternoon to piece my block.
I was trying to avoid that very long straight seam at the top quarter of the piece. Hopefully some fancy stitches will help. I am trying out a few pieces of lace and some braid. What do you think?
At the top left is what appears to be a green striped fabric. It isn't striped but more the texture of grosgrain ribbon. The colors have photographed a different than they appear to the eye.

Oops Tell it to the Stars Clue 2
I am not feeling like the brightest penny in the bowl today. Lots of little mishaps that are driving me crazy. I must have liked Clue 1 so much that I reposted it. Here are the block for February.
On the Needles
My niece is expecting a baby boy in June (I think I may have mentioned that before) . I have been wanting to knit the Gramp's Cardigan. I am using Madelinetosh DK in the color Toast. Madelinetosh is one of my favorite yarns. I must admit, I have many favorite yarns--Malabrigo, Lorna's Laces, Blue Sky Alpaca, Spud and Chloe, Dream in Color, Shibui.
Now I am going to visit Judy to see what others have on thei

Tell it to the Stars Clue 2
I like to give myself a little pat on the back when I keep up to date with challenges! It doesn't happen very often. I am ready for Clue 3 of Judy's Mystery BOM.
I am going over to Judy's to get my next clue and see what others are doing.
