Week 7 Stash Report

FABRIC

I made three tooth fairy pillows for the Grandies in Virginia.  They only total about .25 yards of fabric.  But every little bit counts.  The mouth forms a pocket where you can place the tooth and the Tooth Fairy can leave a little monetary reward.  They can hang on the door knob for speedy and efficient Tooth Fairy delivery.

Yarn Correction:  I went back to my projects and double checked my projects and yardage. So far this year I have knit 8 hats for a total of 1050 yards and 3 baby afghans for a total of 2479 yards.  My grand total so far is 3579 yards.  I am feeling a little better about my progress.

First Christmas Finish for 2021

I have been participating in The Joyful Quilter's Table Scrap Challenge.  I definitely don't want to rush Christmas 2021.  But I found a Christmas Candle Mat that I wanted to make and I don't like waiting until the last minute to make things. And I just realized that there is a color for each challenge.  February was yellow so I am taking "poetic" license.  The stars and edging are in the yellow family!

February OMG Finish

 I am on a roll!!  For two consecutive months I accomplished my OMG.  I wanted to finish my Chevron Baby Blanket and it is ready to go.  I hope I can keep this momentum going.  

Who would have thought that a trip to the dentist would be exciting???  I needed a little dental work and found myself very excited as I was driving there.  I am not a big fan of having someone work on my mouth especially when Novocain, drilling and a new crown are involved.  The sky was blue, the sun shining and the temperature was way above freezing--almost fifty degrees.  This was my exciting day.

But on a knitty note, I found a WIP that I started in 2014!  I am typically a monogamous knitter.  (That isn't true for my quilting adventures.)  It is an open cardigan design from Amy Herzog's Custom Fit.  I think deep down inside I was nervous that it wouldn't fit or more likely wasn't a good style for me.  I was working on the last sleeve when it was tucked away.  I had taken some really thorough notes and was able to pick up where I left off.  I am excited to get back to this project.

Stash Report Week 6

 Not much sewing happened this week. I have been concentrating on my crazy quilt block class.  But since I was presented with the opportunity to work on Silk Ribbon Embroidery, I have been slow to complete the final embellishing lesson.  

So there have been no changes in my fabric numbers.  But I did manage to complete two yarn projects--a mosaic hat for my Q1 Mosaic Challenge in the ESK Yarnathon and a crochet baby blanket for charity.  I need a finished photo of the blanket.

Not much sewing this week. In fact I was catching up with my Crazy Quilt Block,  But I am hoping to have a little machine time this afternoon.

I have one more lesson to complete.  I have learned a lot and definitely need lots more practice.  But I have enjoyed working on it.

Since I only count the yarn for completed projects, it seems that I did very little knitting this week.  My one finish this week is a mosaic hat. This is my finished project this week.

 One small nap quilt completed.  I found this little two block panel and added some borders.  I used a continuous line quilting dinosaur design by Designs by Juju.

February OMG

I was so happy to accomplish my January goal.  I am still feeling that New Year enthusiasm to make progress.  This month I have a yarn goal.  I will be finishing a baby chevron blanket.
