On the Needles

Not a very productive week.  Did you ever purchase yarn for a project and then realized it just wasn't right.  I like giving knitted things for gifts especially Christmas.  And yes I do start early and work through out the year.

I purchased Blue Sky Alpaca Worsted Hand Dyes in Charcoal

The pattern was going to be Low Brow Cowl and Hat.

I just didn't like the combination.  So I decided on a man's scarf.    The pattern is very nice and masculine in the color I chose.  Blue Sky Alpaca is a lovely yarn to work with.  I decided to add ten stiches but it was way to wide.  So the frogging began.  No problem.  But I was a little discouraged, put the needles down, worked on some applique and will cast on again this weekend.

  2. Happens to the best of us! I'm all the time changing the yarn I want to use for something. But it usually gets used in something else, so no harm :*)

  4. The yarn will make a great man's scarf. Nice design pattern too. I really like your original pattern for a woman's scarf or cowl.
