Getting It Done December

I think I need to review my list during the month.  I wrote it at the beginning and then never looked at it again!!  I kept getting sidetracked.

2. Complete brown and gold cowl
3. Complete Return to Square One Medallion Quilt top
4. Machine quilt Pinwheel quilt, bind and label--not even close.
I will just move a few things over to next month and probably add a few more.

My list for January 2014:

  2. CQPJ 2014 (Crazy Quilt Journal Project) January Block
  3. Joy of Life:  appliqué one block
  4. Underground Railroad BOM
  5. Schoolhouse Quilters BOM
  6. Tell it to the Stars Mystery BOM

Yarn Report

Some knitting progress to report.
 In this week:  2 skeins
I couldn't resist.  They were so pretty on the shelf.  I think they will become rolled brim hats

Out this week:  3 skeins
My first Loopy Ewe Challenge for 2014. The pattern is Green Tea Latte.  I used 2 skeins of Shibui Sock in Tweed and 1 skein of Shibui Silk Cloud in Caffeine.

Total in the past few weeks:  20
Total out:  5

I am so -o-o looking forward to starting from scratch with the report next week.

On the Needles Friday

I will be taking this project into the new year.  This is a very popular pattern at our LYS.  Most of us who attend drop in knitting on Tuesday mornings have made a least one of Lynn Wilson's Love to Knit Baby Sampler Blanket.  I am using Cascade Yarns Cherub DK.
I am going to visit Judy L's to see what others are knitting.   I always get great ideas when I visit her blog.

Planning and Organizing

I admit to being a Planner and a List Maker.  I have all kinds of notebooks and pieces of paper laying around.
I lost my knitting notebook with this year's projects but fortunately most of the information in on my Ravelry page.  The notebook on the right is my new knitting journal--a new book and a new year.

The journal 2nd from the right is my Weight Watchers notebook.  I started the program July 1, 2013 and still have a long way to go.   My Christmas cookie list is next and behind it is a journal with owls.  Nothing has been written in it yet.  I just liked it.  The book on the left is my daily/weekly/monthly to-do lists.  It helps me organize my thoughts.  I forgot to add my Quilting journal.

I am generally an organized person but every now and then I need to shake things up a bit.  My first task for 2014 is to organize my knitting, quilting and needlework projects.

Yarn Report

Not a bad week if I do say so myself.  I finished a cowl which I hope to block before Christmas.  My Loopy Challenge yarn arrived on Monday--that added 3 skeins to my stash and the cowl only used one.

The yarn is Shibui Sock in Tweed and the one in the middle is Shibui Cloud in Caffeine.  I am going to visit Judy's site and see what others have added.

The Loopy Challenges are fun.  It makes me try new yarns, patterns and techniques.

On the Needles Friday

I started my new Loopy Challenge this week.  The pattern is Green Tea Latte.  I have chosen Shibui Sock in Tweed and paired it with Shibui Cloud in Caffeine.

Visit Judy's site to see what others are knitting.

On my needles Friday

This is the same cowl I posted a few weeks ago.  I restarted it 5 times but I think I got it right this time.

Yarn report Week 49

I never got around to reporting my acquisitions last week.  So I will "fess" up.  Not only do I have my Black Friday purchases from Eat, Sleep Knit but I need to add my gift skein that I "won" .  I had a choice of Malabrigo or Squoosh Fiber Arts.  I have never knit with this and thought this would be a good way to try it.  The fiber content is super wash merino, silk and cashmere.  It has a wonderful feel.

I thought I had a picture of my purchases but it seems to be floating off in the sky somewhere.  So for now I will give my numbers.

In this week:  14 skeins
Out this week:  0
Total used since I started this report:  1
